The Legendary Pikes Peak Pack – Suzuki Escudo PP

If from one side in the ‘80s the electronic sound were on top into the international discography, to the other hands during ‘90s the disco music was roaring and with that the sound of the brand new Suzuki Escudo. Known by fans as the ‘Escudo Pikes Peak’, it is a prototype designed and developed specifically for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Despite sharing the name with Suzuki’s famous 4×4 XL7, that is where the similarities end. This prototype was built in 1996 and, while having all-wheel drive, had an impressive 2493 cc V6 engine with twin turbo, able to produce 985 hp at 8,100 rpm. This performance, combined with a light weight of 800 kg, gave it a power-to-weight ratio of less than one. The car was a beast, able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds, with a maximum speed of 168 mph. To handle this huge power, Suzuki focused heavily on downforce, adding a large front splitter and huge rear wing, developed using a wind tunnel.

The DLCs 1 and 2 – which include 1 car and 1 track PP’88 each – will be available for free for those who will pre-order a copy of Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO.

The Legendary Pikes Peak Pack – Peugeot 405 T16 PP

While the ‘80s dance music was hot into the radio, the engine sound of the Peugeot 405 T16 PP was marking its own record (10:47.77) on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, one of the most ambitious and difficult race ever.
The Peugeot 405 T16 Grand Raid as it was called was unveiled in 1988 and was in all respects a prototype. A new model was also introduced along with the Grand Raid for competing in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. This particular version was given some additional features that made it even more impressive. The engine, a turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder 600 hp, was inherited from the Peugeot 205 T16, but suitably powered with increased displacement. The car was lowered and the aerodynamics completely revised. Two large wings were mounted on the front and at the rear to maximize downforce, and a feature never before seen in a rally or hill climb was four-wheel steering. In the system, the rear wheels steered 1° to ¾ of steering wheel rotation, to a maximum of 3° rotation when the steering was at full lock.

The DLCs 1 and 2 – which include 1 car and 1 track PP’88 each – will be available for free for those who will pre-order a copy of Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO.
